Getting here

Hue is easy to reach. It has an airport, a train station and of course the buses.

I took first time in Vietnam the train from Da Nang. In around 4 hours you will arrive here.

BJJ

I found the Kimura Hue here. They train 3 times a week in Hue fighters gym.

A solid number of people showed up for the Thursday night session.

We rolled for an hour and afterwards we exchanged some techniques.

Go and visit them while you are in Hue. They will welcome you!

Food and drinks

Traditional Hue food

Bun Bo Hue: This is perhaps the most famous dish from the region. It’s a spicy beef noodle soup with a robust broth made from beef bones, lemongrass, and fermented shrimp paste.

Banh Beo: These are small, round, steamed rice cakes topped with shrimp, pork cracklings, and scallion oil. They are typically served in a small bowl and eaten with a savory fish sauce.

Banh Khoai: Often referred to as “Hue pancake,” Banh Khoai is a crispy, turmeric-infused pancake filled with shrimp, pork, bean sprouts, and other ingredients.

Banh Loc: Translucent dumplings made from tapioca flour and stuffed with shrimp and pork. These dumplings are wrapped in banana leaves and steamed, resulting in a unique texture.

Nem Lui: Grilled pork skewers wrapped in rice paper. The pork is usually seasoned with lemongrass and other spices, giving it a distinct flavor.

Che Hue: A variety of sweet soups and desserts are collectively known as “che.”
