Getting here
Flying in from Vietnam to Koh Samui I took the ferry to Koh Tao.
You can also reach Koh Tao from the mainland by boat, while getting there by bus.
BJJ
Since years there is a 10 Planet Jiu Jitsu on the Island of Koh Tao.
Based in Monsoon Gym, 10 Planet Koh Tao offers daily classes for all levels.
I went 3 times to the evening all level classes and enjoyed a well settled up class followed by some rounds of rolling.
The gym is visited by a lot of traveler coming in to the Island. So if you are there you will have an opportunity to roll.
Food and drinks
Thai food is renowned for its bold flavors, aromatic herbs, and vibrant colors. It is a unique and diverse cuisine that combines sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and spicy elements in various dishes.
Curry: Thai curries are popular and come in different colors such as red, green, and yellow. They are made with a paste of herbs and spices, coconut milk, and can include various proteins like chicken, beef, or seafood.
Tom Yum and Tom Kha Soups: These are classic Thai soups. Tom Yum is a spicy and sour soup, often with shrimp, while Tom Kha is a milder version with coconut milk, galangal, and chicken or shrimp.
Pad Thai: A well-known Thai stir-fried noodle dish made with rice noodles, eggs, tofu or shrimp, bean sprouts, peanuts, and lime. It’s often flavored with tamarind paste and fish sauce.
Som Tum (Green Papaya Salad): A refreshing and spicy salad made with shredded green papaya, tomatoes, green beans, peanuts, and lime.
Mango Sticky Rice: A popular Thai dessert made with sweet sticky rice, fresh mango slices, and topped with coconut milk.
