BJJ in LA

June, 2014

Train at the famos AOJ

After a bachelor party in Las Vegas some friends and I decided to stay longer in the US. We rented a car and drove from Vegas to LA.

Arriving at our house in Newpot Beach CA I did some research about BJJ in the area. It was my first time every training outside of Switzerland.

It turned out, that the famous Art of Jiu Jitsu is just around the corner. Wow! What a chance to train in the gym of two of the world`s best.

Training

The Mendes Brothers are well known for a very technical BJJ.

At the time I trained at AOJ my experience of Jiu Jitsu wasn`t so high and I had a bit of struggle to follow the class.

The Team of AOJ was very friendly and helped me a lot while I was struggling.

Most of the time I went to the morning classes to be able to spent the afternoon with my friends.

The first guy I met was Cheng a visitor from Hong Kong. We kept in touch and visited each other.

I know that LA has more world class BJJ gyms. If I make it back I will visit them!

Good to know: At AOJ visitors are only allowed to train in certain classes and you have to wear a withe Gi without any patches from other schools

We spent 4 days in LA before we moved on to Miami.

BJJ in LA is huge, here some more ideas where to train:
